It all starts with one question: how should your guests feel when they leave? The answer decides the format.
- A seated dinner suits thank-you evenings, galas and award ceremonies: it encourages conversation and speeches.
- A walking dinner keeps guests moving and works well for networking with clients or partners.
- A big party (dinner then party, show, DJ) makes an impression for a year end party or a company anniversary.

Choosing the venue in Paris
Paris offers a wide range of venues for private hire: historic reception rooms and mansions, industrial spaces and lofts, rooftops, river boats, museums and cultural venues. Before falling in love with a place, check:
- The real capacity for a seated dinner or a cocktail party, which is not the same.
- Access: public transport, parking, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, distance from your guests’ hotels.
- The end time set by the venue or the neighbours, often earlier than you expect.
- Technical constraints: power supply, rigging points, ceiling height, set-up hours.
- Catering: exclusive caterer or free choice, and the corkage fee.
- Plan B for a rooftop or a garden if the weather changes.

Making the evening memorable
Originality does not come from a gadget but from an idea that holds from start to finish:

Mistakes to avoid
- A venue that is too big: a half empty room kills the atmosphere. A venue slightly too small is better than an oversized one.
- Speeches nobody can hear: plan proper sound and keep speeches to a few minutes.
- An underestimated welcome: queues at the cloakroom and missing badges spoil the first minutes.
- Forgetting how guests get home: in France, employers have a duty of care towards their employees. Offer appealing alcohol free drinks and arrange shuttles or taxis at the end of the evening.
- Deciding everything at the last minute: the good venues, artists and suppliers are booked early.
