The Open Workshop
A 36 m² stand in reclaimed wood, rebuilt three times in a year.
The brief
Lin & Laine, a French spinning mill, wanted a stand consistent with its commitments: sourced materials, nothing disposable, and a format able to travel to three textile shows in a year, on a controlled budget.
The idea
An “open workshop”: a structure of reclaimed wooden battens, assembled without glue or visible screws, that serves as both architecture and display for the samples. A large central worktable replaces the traditional counter.
Production
Wood from our reclaimed stock and certified oak, demountable assemblies, the client’s own stretched fabrics used as signage, low-energy LED track lighting.

Installation
Two days of build-up by two technicians, packed in reusable crates, stored in our workshop between shows and reconfigured to 24 m² for a regional show.
A stand that looks like us, that we rebuild at every show, and that costs us less than our old disposable stands.
